The first programme will be by Lena Davidovich. She will show her video ‘Raised from the dead’ (‘04/’05). The idea behind this film started the moment Lena saw a documentary about the miraculous resurrection of a Nigerian pastor, Daniel Ekechukwu. He was fatally injured in a car accident near the town of Onitsha, Nigeria. He died from his injuries, but came to life again just before the burial. ‘Raised from the dead’ is Lena’s version of this remarkable African story. The presentation consists of two parts: a story board (A4, colour ink on paper) and an animated film. Lena Davidovich was born in Minsk, Belarus, where she started her education. She studied and worked in New York (Pratt Institute, Media Arts department) and in Amsterdam (Gerrit Stichting Kunsttraject Amsterdam • Jaarverslag 2010 12 Rietveld Academy). She currently lives in Amsterdam.
